The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus makes the following statement with regard to the press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania concerning the outcomes of the review by the Implementation Committee of the Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context (Espoo Convention) of the submission by Lithuania regarding Belarus’ compliance with the Convention while planning the construction of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus has to state that Lithuania once again decided to resort to a blunt distortion of the reality and in fact misinformed the international community.

On 20-21 March 2012, the Espoo Convention Implementation Committee considered the submission by Lithuania on the issue of con
